Thats a great point, and I’ve definitely seen my fair share of those “how to start a blog” posts. That’s always been a good fit for people at Location 180, and if they do a good job on the post (truly make it useful) that’s one that doesnt bother me as much – solely because I know how valuable starting a blog can be for your life and goals. So if it’s some personal finance blogger that creates one and you start a blog from that by following their tutorial – all the better!

I really hope affiliate marketing is not dead. I feel it is essentail for affiliates to lobby their merchants to say that 1. toolbars are unfairly hijacking their commissions and 2. don’t the merchants realise that the toolbars will cause them to lose thousands of links from affiliates who drop them and cause direct visits to merchants’ websites to become affiliate sales.

Now, that i said that another question naturally arises. “Isn’t there too much competition already? What chance do i have? Competition exists in every market and you just have to face it. The fact that there is competition doesn’t mean you can’t succeed. The competition can’t stop you from creating high-quality and helpful content. There are plenty of opportunities out there and if you know how to specify your niche and appeal to a well-targeted audience then you can certainly make money. Another survey from VigLink offers a closer look at just how much income affiliate marketers are bringing in. According to the survey, 9% generated more than $50,000 in affiliate income in 2016. The majority, 65%, said they were making between 5% and 20% of their annual revenue from affiliate programs. The survey also showed a link between timeframe and revenues. Among the publishers with the largest revenues, 60% had been utilizing affiliate-marketing strategies for five years or more. 
Yes, I am proud of my daughter for it out. She was definitely frustrated with it, but in the end, it turned out to be a great teaching moment.
